Theft Abatement Program (T.A.P.)

This program is an educational anti-theft, shoplifting and bad check class that illustrates risk and impact of these behaviors, while exploring the underlying causes.

T.A.P. - Level 1


ADAP offers a comprehensive five (5) hour educational class for first time offenders who have committed an act of theft, shoplifting or worthless checks. The objectives of Level I class are to educate offenders on the effects and cost of theft on society and self. Offenders learn to accept responsibility for their actions by increasing their awareness.

T.A.P. Level 2


ADAP offers a comprehensive program for repeat offenders (misdemeanor or felony). Research indicates that multiple offenders (excluding theft for profit) are at a higher risk of Mental Health Disorders such as Depression, Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsion and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The objectives of the Level 2 program are to assess the mental health status via a Mental Health Evaluation and place client in either class or individual sessions to meet their special needs.

Referral and Case Management are part of this program.


 

T.A.P. Level 1 - Registration

Participant needs to come into the ADAP Counseling Services office to enroll. Clients will need to bring arrest affidavit and referral form, if applicable, and the registration fee.  Call your local office for class times and location.

$100.00 T.A.P. - Level 1

All fees may be paid with cash, credit card or money order.  No checks please.



 

T.A.P. Level 2 - Registration

 

Participant needs to come into the ADAP Counseling Services office to enroll and make a Mental Health Evaluation appointment. Clients will need to bring arrest affidavit and referral form, if applicable, and the registration fee.  After the evaluation, clients may be required to either attend T.A.P or individual counseling sessions.



 

Fee


$100.00 for the Mental Health Evaluation
$75 T.A.P. - Level 1 class and/or
$50.00 for each individual session as required.

This is a state licensed program which meets the requirements for court ordered anti-theft, shoplifting or worthless check class.
